PPTC “Antiquing Away” ride. A good group turned out for the ride, ready to have a good time. I was riding strong, dropping folks repeatedly on the climbs (I’d drop my pace back a bit once I realized that most of the group wasn’t going to follow me – it’s more fun to ride with the group). Jason (the Brewer) had three flats within a mile, the first two being a double-whammy pinch flat on a pothole. Luckily, the group had plenty of spare tubes and CO2 carts at the ready. But it didn’t damp the spirits of the riders, as the weather was simply gorgeous – so unlike typical August “triple-H” weather, with low humidity, few clouds and deep blue skies that perfectly framed the Catoctins and Sugarloaf..
