I just read that Discovery Channel Cycling has disbanded. Even with a 1-3-8 finish in the Tour de France, their search for a new sponsor proved fruitless. According to the article, the team will fulfill its remaining race obligations, including the Tour of Spain, as well as the upcoming Tour of Missouri.
So much cycling talent is now on the market again – including my friend, Levi. Yikes. How awful that a few rotten apples (a.k.a. Vino et al) spoil the sponsor search.

Yeah, I saw this – holy crap. Guess Armstrong’s saying “thanks, but no” to the UCI.
Interesting shakeup in the teams this year. Didja see that T-Mobile is going to continue to sponsor a team even though the German press has been particularly harsh on the doping scandals? I’ve got to wonder how hard Armstrong et al pushed for a sponsor besides Discovery, or if they are just kind of deciding to punt…
