PPTC “Downtown Breakaway” ride. This week we were able to ride on the longest course possible on the route: the “Summer Solstice” course, which returns to DC via Rock Creek Park. We just managed to get back before it got dark, and the group – which was small due to earlier thunderstorms – kept up a good pace and a pleasant demeanor. I felt good during the ride, that’s for sure, though I went through quite a bit of fluids due to the 75-80 percent humidity present during the ride.
