Some interval laps around Hains Point. I mostly rode solo this time, though one lap had me join some DC Velo and Spokes riders for some sprinting fun. The headwind on the recovery side of each lap was intense – probably a steady 15-20 mph wind, almost directly head-on. Tonight’s thunderstorms will be quite the show. Lots of tourists out and about today, as well – I can’t recall seeing so many kids on “group leashes” in quite some time.
And happy birthday to me.

I read about your birthday on Sprite’s (the other sprite, hehe) site and I had to come over and say “Feliz Cumpleanos!”.
Happppppyyyy Birthday!
I just barely started riding a road bike (I learn to ride a bike for the first time last year). Toay I took a ride, 27 miles, yay! I am in no way as fast as you though, I barely averaged 13.2 miles, hehehe. I am loving it though and it is my hope to keep working at it so I can get maybe to 15 mph, hehehe.
Again, Happy Birthday, may you have a great one!

Thank you, Mia and Isela!
Mia: nice recap of the Sheeply Wool Fest!
Isela: you’ll get there! I improved a lot over the last few years, and the secret is just to get out and ride!
