PPTC “Fall Training Ride from Glen Echo” – though I started and ended at The Burrow in DC. The ride out to Glen Echo was a perfect warm-up: moderat pace through Georgetown and the Palisades neighborhood of DC, then a nice, fast spin on MacArthur Boulevard to Glen Echo. I broke away from the group 2.5 miles from Glen Echo, on the first hill. I stayed away for the next 17.5 miles, until Gene Dare’s “express train” of four other fast riders caught up with me. I latched on and rode with ’em for the rest of the ride. The colors aren’t out as much in the Maryland ‘burbs, but they should be nice in a week or two.

After I got home, I had a snack and then hopped into the shower. Posey, our fluffy cat, sat on the edge of the tub for most of the shower, waiting for me to come out and pet her – such loyalty!
