PPTC “100,000 Mile Celebration Ride” (the ride leader’s ca. 1981 Fuji has seen more than 100,000 miles since he bought it – used – in 1984). This is the same route I rode back on May 14, though the weather was much nicer (postcard day, today, with many racing sloops out on Chesapeake Bay, spinnakers deployed). There were also many deer, woodchucks, foxes and hawks out – good wildlife viewing. The ride had a longer option, to North Beach, but I didn’t want to overdo it, so I did the known commodity. And it was a great recovery ride! I rode fast again, pulling a good spin on the hills (in fact, I beat the other two in my party to the rest stop by 5 minutes – oops, in terms of being a good riding partner). And I had plenty of gas left in the tank at the end.
