Discs listened to on January 18 (and early on the 19th, too):
Z: The Wind – Warren Zevon
A: The Sign – Ace Of Base
B: Introducing… The Beatles – The Beatles
C: Last Quarter Moon – Chiara Civello
D: The Rocky Mountain Collection – John Denver
The lone Beatles disc has no Amazon link because the album isn’t technically available on CD. But to a long-time U.S. fan of the Fab Four, the album should be familiar: it’s the Vee-Jay album that was the first Beatles LP released in the States. Capitol didn’t take notice of the Beatles at first, so other EMI labels picked up the slack.

I really liked the Zevon disc and hope others out there might point us to some others of his that they recommend.
And I would recommend the Civello disc to anyone who likes the ’70s jazz chanteuse. The songs aren’t overproduced (lest you think it’s that part of the ’70s I’m referring to) and you can hear in her voice that she’s really enjoying herself.

Ace of Base?
ACE OF BASE?
I have to reconsider this whole “Rudi’s a swell guy who’s got great taste in music” thing…..
