Back in 1978, French filmmaker Claude Lelouch hired a Formula 1 race car driver to take a spin around pre-dawn Paris. Mounting a gyroscopically-stabilized camera to the front bumper of a Ferrari 275, the result is one of the cooler, more unique films I’ve seen in a while. Plus, you get a great tour of downtown Paris along the way.
Lelouch was arrested for pulling off this stunt, although he never revealed the name of the F1 driver he hired to pilot the Ferrari. The film was thought forever lost, but has now surfaced on the internet and on DVD. Click here to view it (requires Quicktime).
