It looks like Dick Black will have to take his pink fetus keychains back to his house. David Poisson, the Democratic challenger, appears to have won the race in Virginia’s 32nd district. As I write, 75 percent of precincts are reporting and Poisson leads, 53-47. It’s looking good.
And Tim Kaine held off Jerry Kilgore in the heated and dirty governor’s race. With 97 percent of precincts reporting, Kaine leads, 52-46. Even a visit by President Bush couldn’t save Kilgore – in fact, it may have been a catalyst to improved Democratic turnout (that and the gorgeous weather that blanketed the area today).
So it’s a good election day, thus far.
I’m waiting to hear more from Maine – stay tuned!
