Every summer, sprite and I go to the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in Hillsdale, NY. This four-day folk (and other) music festival is a chance for us to unwind, hear music, hang out with friends, and just plain have fun.
This year, it was announced that the Brennan family was selling Long Hill Farm, home to the festival since 1990. A new home was needed, and an air of doubt fell over the crowd. Would there be a Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in 2006? Where would it be?
These questions were answered this week when the fest’s directors announced a new home: Dodds Farm, six miles north of Hillsdale and about 8 miles (by road) from the old Long Hill site. Click here for a Google Map of the new site. While it remains to be seen whether the new location will have the same amenities (e.g. four stages, on-site camping), it’s great news.
Here we come, Falcon Ridge 2006!
