Today at the College Republicans‘ national convention in Arlington, VA, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council made a very questionable comparison between the men and women serving in the U.S. armed forces and the kids of the College Republicans:
“They’re giving their lives as you’re giving your time.”
Essentially, he was ranking the actions of some youthful do-nothings with that of men and women, liberals and conservatives of all races, religions and political parties who are putting their lives on the line to defend the policies of BushCo and the theocons.
My advice to the College Republican ranks: if you support the war so much, walk the walk and join the Army, Navy, Air Force or Marines! Enlist and put your own lives on the line for your country! Don’t just sit idly by and let others fight your war!
