A ride with sprite on the C&O. We went looking for wildlife again, and sprite got a nice close-up view of a great blue heron. We also saw some box turtles sunning and swimming in the canal (though the swimmers weren’t into the whole picture-taking thing). We saw Canada geese with their rapidly-maturing goslings, some ducks (a whistling variety), and – much to our surprise – a white-tailed deer fawn. The fawn was possibly an orphan, and it still had its spots. But it was very, very cute, and it posed nicely for the camera.
We also tossed around the softball a bit in preparation for our parks & rec league games, which start on the 26th. I’m certainly rusty, and my throwing action is awful. But it’s a lot of fun!

Your throwing action isn’t awful. The ball always ends up where you want it to go — and that’s the key.
