Dan definitely scooped me on this one, but maybe hell is a lot cooler today: Pink Floyd will reunite at Live 8. That’s right: all four members will play together again. This was confirmed at the band’s website with the following statement from David Gilmour:
“Any squabbles Roger and the band have had in the past are so petty in [the context of African debt relief], and if re-forming for this concert will help focus attention then it’s got to be worthwhile.”
Thank you, Bob Geldof, for playing matchmaker. And thans also to Nick Mason, who has been the internal mediator between Waters and Gilmour for the band over the past few years.
