As anybody knows, Amazon has an extensive library of images: CD cover art, book jackets, appliances, etc. But what I didn’t know (until this morning) is that the various image composites (e.g. an album with a “30 percent off” badge) are generated on the fly.
Nat Gertler figured this out, and posted this wonderful guide on how to create your own Amazon-born Frankenstein monsters. Witness this odd duck:
