A great evening ride with PPTC. Nick’s Tuesday night rides are a lot of fun: lots of hills, good riders, and no traffic, even during rush hour. I went expecting to ride at B pace, but I ended up riding at BB/A pace, which shocked the hell out of me. I climbed well, though one steep climb into Avenel nearly did me in, with my quads and calf muscles cramping a bit. But I managed, and the paceline coming back down MacArthur Boulevard was truly wonderful. I made it home just before dark – next time I’ll bring my red blinker light, just in case.
