I try to keep myself organized, but now that I’m working, going to school and working in an elected office, I’ve been curious about personal information managers – “PIMs,” for short. I have a Palm Tungsten E, but I’m not the best at keeping it up-to-date (though Vindigo is worth keeping in tune). I use iCal, but I don’t sync it between work and home (save for when I remember to keep my Palm in order) because I don’t want to pony up for .Mac.
I just found out about this new, web-based PIM called Backpack (thanks, BoingBoing), and I’m intrigued. The company that makes Backpack – 37Signals – also makes Basecamp, a well-known PIM for corporate applications. Thus, the pedigree is top-notch. Best of all, it’s free.
So I’ll give it a try, and…. who knows? It might prove useful.
